You belong to the Earth. To the Universe. To God. To yourself. And when you are connected to that part of yourself, everything else falls into place.
About Nada
As a Syrian American emotional wellness educator and somatic healing facilitator, Nada Kanaan carries forward a lineage of Syrian women who practiced intuitive, community‑rooted healing. She helps people move from the emotional darkness into the fresh clarity her name Nada evokes, morning dew. She developed What the Heart Remembers, a 5‑step drawing method that helps people access and transform the emotional memories stuck in the body. Her approach weaves nervous system education with creative expression and gentle inquiry, offering spaces where people feel deeply seen and supported.
Read More about NadaThe Roots of This Work
Forty thousand years ago, our ancestors began to draw on rocks and cave walls. They were not making art, and researchers debate their intent, but what we know is that humans have always used their hands to make sense of fear, uncertainty, and change. They were setting intention into physical reality, transforming what they felt, and shaping what came next. Our grandmothers knew this too and used the power of their heart and hands working together. They called it intention, trust, and presence.
Somewhere between then and now, we forgot we had this power. This body of work is how we remember.
Our core needs for safety, belonging, and connection have shaped human behavior for tens of thousands of years. They still shape us today, often in ways we do not consciously recognize. Today, our threats look different, but our nervous system responds the same way. Shelter, food, and comfort may be easier to come by for many of us, yet the same ancient needs influence our decisions and actions. They show up in our personal and professional lives when we look closely at what holds us back from showing up fully.
When we slow down and let the heart and hands work together, we access a clarity that thinking alone cannot reach. The practices I teach, including the drawing method, create a structured way to listen to what the body remembers and to move forward with more truth and less fear.
Come back to your heart. It remembers.
